Richard J. Bonvissuto

Born in Buffalo, New York in 1967, Richard was given his first camera (a Kodak 110 instamatic) for Christmas at the age of nine from his mother. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Erie Community College, and then majored in Media Study concentrating in filmmaking at State University of New York’s College at Buffalo where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Richard moved to California where he worked in the film industry for three years while always keeping his love for photography in the background. After living in Los Angeles, Richard moved back to his hometown of Buffalo where he changed his focus from filmmaking to photography. Richard’s inspiration comes from many artistic influences who include: Mark Sink, Michael Ackerman, Sylvia Plachy, Sally Mann, Annie Leibovitz, Francis Bacon and the incomparable Frank Okenfels. He now resides in sunny Palm Springs, California.
